Purple Tower, Nairobi
Purple Tower, located in Nairobi, is a commercial high-rise development that demonstrates how early-stage sustainability integration can lead to strong environmental and operational performance. UGC was engaged from the outset of the design process to support the project team in meeting EDGE certification requirements through building performance simulation and sustainability advisory.
Using advanced modelling tools, UGC worked with the architects and engineers to optimise the building envelope, improve daylight access, enhance ventilation strategies and select efficient systems and materials. These strategies were implemented without significant additional cost, reflecting the project’s commitment to smart, cost-effective sustainability.
In 2025, the project achieved final EDGE certification, verifying substantial reductions in energy and water use, alongside lower embodied carbon through responsible material choices.
