IXAfrica Data Centre, Nairobi & MoMBASA

IXAfrica Data Centre Nairobi One is a major digital infrastructure development located along Mombasa Road in Nairobi. UGC was engaged to conduct a sustainability audit and performance assessment of the existing data centre facility, with the goal of aligning it with EDGE certification standards. Through this process, UGC identified and guided the implementation of key efficiency upgrades across energy, water, and operational systems. The existing facility is on track to achieve EDGE certification in 2025.

In parallel, UGC is also supporting the next phase of IXAfrica’s expansion, working with the design team, engineers, and data centre specialists from the early concept stage. This new-build data centre will target EDGE Preliminary Certification in 2025, with full post-construction certification expected in 2027. Both phases reflect a broader commitment to sustainable digital infrastructure, combining operational efficiency with alignment to global ESG standards.
