Makazi Student Housing, Kampala

Makazi Student Housing is a proposed affordable residential development located in Kampala, Uganda, offering student accommodation alongside integrated retail space. UGC was engaged by CrossBoundary Real Estate to advise on the project’s sustainability strategy and support it in achieving EDGE certification.

From the early design stages, UGC has worked closely with the project team to assess and optimise the building’s energy performance, water efficiency, and material use. The development is designed to meet international green building standards while maintaining affordability and comfort for student residents.

The project is currently progressing towards EDGE Design Certification, positioning it as a benchmark for sustainable student housing in the region.
