ALP Warehousing, Nairobi

Africa Logistics Properties (ALP) Warehousing is a large-scale industrial development in Nairobi, designed to meet the growing demand for modern logistics infrastructure in East Africa. UGC was appointed from the early design stage to guide the project team in meeting EDGE Advanced certification targets. Through detailed simulation analysis and sustainability advisory, UGC supported the development of high-performance design strategies, including optimised envelope design, passive cooling, water efficiency, and low-carbon materials. The project represents a benchmark for sustainable industrial facilities in the region.

Project Sustainability Features

  • Passive design strategies to reduce heat gain and improve thermal comfort

  • High-efficiency lighting and ventilation systems to lower operational energy use

  • Water-saving fixtures to significantly reduce potable water demand

  • Use of low-embodied carbon materials to align with EDGE Advanced thresholds

  • Detailed performance modelling and optimisation throughout design
