Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Serengeti

The Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Serengeti is a 5-star luxury safari resort located within Tanzania’s world-renowned Serengeti National Park. With a gross internal floor area of approximately 5,750 m², the resort is being developed with a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility and low ecological impact. UGC was engaged from the early design stage to guide the architectural and engineering teams in optimising the performance of all building typologies—including guest rooms, communal areas, and back-of-house facilities. Given the lodge’s location within a highly sensitive ecosystem, the project prioritises passive design strategies, operational efficiency, and low-impact material choices. The development is targeting EDGE Advanced certification, making it one of the region’s first luxury eco-lodges to pursue formal green building recognition.
