UNOPS ADIN Offices, Pemba

The ADIN Offices project, located on the outskirts of Pemba, Mozambique, represents a forward-thinking commitment to sustainable infrastructure by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). Designed by UNOPS' Technical Services Unit (TSU), the development is one of the first in-house projects taken through EDGE certification as part of an effort to align infrastructure delivery with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The facility consists of a ground plus one-storey office building comprising shared and individual workspaces, two meeting rooms, and a conference room. A comprehensive EDGE Design Audit was undertaken to assess the building’s performance across key areas such as energy, water, and materials efficiency. The process involved an objective third-party evaluation of the submitted designs against EDGE criteria, including detailed documentation reviews and iterative feedback loops. The project has successfully achieved Preliminary EDGE Certification.
