Google Offices, Nairobi

The Google Offices in Nairobi represent a significant milestone in sustainable workplace design and a continued partnership between Google and UGC. Following the successful delivery of Google’s Accra office, Google once again selected UGC through a competitive tender process to lead the project’s sustainability strategy and deliver LEED certification. This repeat engagement reflects a strong vote of confidence in UGC’s capabilities and commitment to global best practice.

As with the previous engagement, UGC worked closely with Google’s international design and engineering teams to optimise the project’s performance across all key areas of sustainability. Our scope included thermal comfort modelling, ventilation design, indoor air quality optimisation and the selection of low-toxicity, environmentally verified materials and furnishings.

The project achieved LEED Platinum certification, making it only the second LEED Platinum project in Kenya and UGC’s second LEED Platinum project on the continent. It stands as a flagship example of how health, performance and sustainability can be seamlessly integrated in commercial interiors.
