Hotel Cardoso, Maputo

Hotel Cardoso is a historic 4-star hotel located in the heart of Maputo, Mozambique. Originally constructed in 1928, the hotel features five floors and 130 guest rooms, along with a range of amenities including a restaurant, bar, meeting rooms, gym, sauna, and swimming pool. As part of the Westmont Hospitality Group’s broader effort to green its existing property portfolio, UGC was engaged to conduct a full performance assessment and provide strategic advisory to guide the project toward EDGE certification. UGC is working closely with the operations and technical teams to identify and oversee the implementation of key upgrades in energy, water, and materials performance. The project is currently undergoing improvements and is targeting final certification in 2025.
