ICRC Regional HQ, Nairobi
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Headquarters in Nairobi is a landmark institutional development designed to accommodate the expanding operational needs of the organisation in East Africa. UGC was engaged to conduct the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the project, guiding it through the full compliance process and securing approval from NEMA. A key feature of this assignment was the robust community engagement process, where UGC facilitated meaningful dialogue between the ICRC project team and local neighbourhood associations. The result was a well-informed, inclusive planning process that helped align development goals with local concerns, demonstrating how development and community interests can be thoughtfully balanced.
