The Nation Centre in Nairobi’s Central Business District is a prominent commercial building managed by PDM Properties, part of the Aga Khan Development Network. As part of broader upgrade plans for the property, UGC has been engaged to conduct an EDGE feasibility assessment to explore how the building can align with contemporary sustainability standards.
Given the building’s age and operational significance, UGC is working closely with the management team to evaluate performance improvement opportunities across energy, water, and materials. The goal is to determine a clear and cost-effective pathway to achieve EDGE certification, aligning with both local benchmarks and international ESG expectations.
The Nation Centre represents an opportunity to demonstrate how well-established commercial assets in urban centres can transition into high-performing, resource-efficient buildings.
